Peugeot Ordinary Bicycle

.
This November our Vehicle of the Month is somewhat different and rather special - a Peugeot Ordinary Bicycle, which you may have spotted at the RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run just over a week ago.
.
Andrew, the bicycle’s current owner tells us that Peugeot ordinaries are very rare, and it is thought to be one of a handful of survivors, probably the the third oldest Peugeot bicycle, and the only high wheel Peugeot in the UK.
.
His story is a lovely put journal of the bicycle’s history, restoration, travels and what it’s like to ride a high bicycle! It has given us a brand new appreciation for these loosely nicknamed ‘Penny Farthings’.
.
It’s an absolute must-read so please enjoy: The Peugeot Ordinary Bicycle 1886/1887.
